Lot 1000: A Group of British School Watercolours and a Pen and Wash Study by J R M
A group of artworks on paper comprising three watercolours and one pen and wash study, primarily depicting British landscape and maritime themes. The collection includes a watercolour of a woodland scene with a stone bridge over a stream; a pen and wash study of a docked trawler, inscribed with the initials J R M and a date in the lower right; a watercolour of a mountainous valley landscape; and a watercolour depicting a winding river through a valley, signed in the lower right with characters that are not clearly legible. The works are executed on paper and presented in various modern mounts and frames, including white-painted, light wood, and dark wood finishes. The styles are consistent with 20th-century representational British school painting.
