This lot consists of two sterling silver sporting medals, both manufactured by the Birmingham silversmith William Hair Haseler. The first medal is a shield-shaped fob for the News of the World Individual Darts Championship. The obverse features a central relief-moulded dartboard motif within a laurel wreath border, decorated with blue enamel ribbons inscribed NEWS OF THE WORLD INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP. The reverse is stamped with Birmingham hallmarks including the lion passant, anchor, and date letter q for 1940, alongside the maker mark W.H.H. The second medal is circular in form with a laurel wreath border surrounding a central unengraved shield. The reverse is stamped with the retailer mark R. F. DAVIS and SON PLYMOUTH and Birmingham hallmarks including the lion passant, anchor, and date letter e for 1929, with the maker mark W.H.H. Both items are fitted with suspension loops.
