Lot 636: An Assortment of Antique and Vintage Silver-Plated and Desk Items
An assortment of decorative antique and vintage table and desk items. The collection includes a silver-plated sugar caster of traditional baluster form, featuring a pierced domed cover with a pointed finial and beaded borders to the foot and rim. Also included is a cut glass preserve jar with deep diamond-cut decoration, fitted with a white metal collar and a hinged lid with a swing handle. A dark-toned metal inkwell, likely pewter, is of tiered circular construction with a central hinged cover. The lot further contains a miniature gilt-metal set comprising a small jug with a scrolled handle and ornate repoussé foliate designs, resting on a matching circular stand with a rope-twist border. Completing the assortment is a mid-20th-century chrome-plated perpetual desk calendar with internal rollers for displaying the day, date, and month, bearing a partially legible inscription relating to a hospital.
