Lot 650: A Late 19th-Century Sèvres-Style Champlevé Enamel and Porcelain-Mounted Urn
A small decorative urn in the Sèvres style, featuring a bulbous porcelain body with a central hand-painted floral spray of roses and mixed blossoms. The decoration is set against a white ground, bordered by a deep cobalt blue reserve with gilded foliate scrollwork. The porcelain is held within ornate gilt-metal mounts, comprising a pierced, shaped rim and a scrolling, lobed base. These mounts are decorated with polychrome champlevé enamel in turquoise, white, and dark red tones. The underside of the metal base features a central circular fastening point with no visible maker’s marks or stamps. The item is accompanied by a contemporary auction tag from Liskeard Auction Rooms, marked Lot 650.
