Lot 683: An Assortment of Decorative Ceramics and Tableware including Norman Rockwell Collector Plates
A collection of various decorative and tableware ceramics. The group includes a selection of blue and gilt porcelain tea wares comprising a square-handled serving plate and matching circular side plates, featuring cobalt blue borders with gilt rococo-style scrollwork, lattice-work, and central multi-coloured floral sprays. Also present is a set of porcelain collector plates decorated with transfer-printed illustrations by Norman Rockwell, including the scenes Girl at Mirror, The Music Master, The Cobbler, and The Discovery, with the artist’s name printed in red on the face. The collection further contains a large scalloped plate with a pale yellow glaze and gold-rubbed rim, a porcelain saucer featuring a green scale-pattern border with white floral cartouches and gilt accents, and a group of white tableware decorated with a transfer-printed border of trailing green vines and small blossoms, comprising a circular plate and matching square side plates with indented corners. No factory marks are visible on the base of the items in the images.
