Lot 770: A Roman Style Gladiatorial Costume Armour Set
A theatrical costume armour set in the style of an ancient Roman gladiator, specifically based on the design for the character General Maximus Decimus Meridius as seen in the 2000 film Gladiator. The set includes a metal helmet with a broad flat crest and a fixed barred visor, a single-piece metal breastplate, and a tan leather baldric featuring a rectangular panel with four small buckles. The outfit is supplemented by a brown faux-fur undergarment and a red fabric neckerchief. The surfaces are finished with an intentional, dark, and textured patina to simulate heavy use and battle wear. A white auction lot tag labelled 770 is affixed to the breastplate.
