Lot 858: A Vintage British No. 35 Hand-Crank Sewing Machine
A vintage hand-cranked sewing machine of British manufacture, featuring a black-enamelled cast-iron body with a swan-neck arm mounted on a rectangular wooden plinth. The arm bears the characters No. 35 in gold-toned lettering, and the base of the pillar is cast with the word BRITISH. The machine is fitted with a hand-operated spoked flywheel with a wooden handle, a geared bobbin winder mechanism, and polished metal slide plates. Several paper labels are adhered to the bed, including an auction lot tag for Liskeard Auction Rooms Lot 858 and handwritten labels identifying the piece as a vintage sewing machine and stating that it is in working order.
