Lot 910: A Trio of Vintage and Antique Travel Cases
A collection of three vintage and antique travel containers including two suitcases and a large trunk. The uppermost item is a tan fabric-covered suitcase with leather-bound corners and a central stitched leather handle. The lid bears a handwritten inscription identifying a previous owner as J Roche. The middle item is a dark, textured vulcanised fibre suitcase reinforced with metal banding and secured by rusted metal latches; it retains a paper tag numbered 23. The bottom item is a large cabin or steamer trunk featuring parallel wooden slats and rusted metal hardware. These items represent typical travel luggage from the late 19th through to the mid-20th century. Lot stickers numbered 310 and 716 are affixed to the surfaces.
