Lot 226: A Pair of Neoclassical Style Reconstituted Stone Garden Urns on Pedestal Bases
A pair of neoclassical style garden urns on pedestal bases, constructed from reconstituted stone. Each urn features a circular body decorated with relief carvings of foliate and floral swags. The rims are finished with a gadrooned border. A notable feature is the three large, ornate scrolled handles positioned around the circumference of each urn. The urns are supported by tapered, fluted stems resting on square plinth bases. The interior of one urn shows a central raised circular feature. These pieces are characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century British garden ornaments, produced in the manner of manufacturers such as Haddonstone or Chilstone. Visible markings consist of temporary white paper auction labels with the numbers 226, 1622, 1.25, and 425; no permanent manufacturer marks, stamps, or signatures were identified during inspection.
