Lot 273: An Assortment of Contemporary and Vintage Ceramic Tableware and Decorative Vessels including Seltmann Weiden Porcelain
This lot comprises an assortment of ceramic tableware and decorative items from various periods. Included is a group of white porcelain cups produced by Seltmann Weiden, featuring scalloped rims and relief-moulded decorative borders of stylized scrolls and foliage. These pieces bear a green printed base mark consisting of a crown above the text Seltmann Weiden Bavaria W. Germany.
The collection also features a white glazed ceramic creamer and a matching lidded sugar bowl, both decorated with dark grey transfer-printed foliate and scroll borders.
Two large cylindrical ceramic pots are included, finished in matte glazes of soft pink and tan. A further decorative vessel is present, featuring a textured, diamond-faceted exterior with a metallic silver-coloured glaze and a contrasting copper-toned interior.
Additional items include a rectangular white ceramic loaf-style dish and multiple white ceramic cups, some of which are finished with gold-toned rims.
Condition report:
The items are in used condition. The white rectangular loaf dish shows significant brown staining to the interior. The Seltmann Weiden and transfer-ware pieces exhibit surface wear and minor scuffing consistent with age and domestic use. There is some visible residue on the base of one cup. No major chips, cracks, or professional repairs are evident from visual inspection of the group.
