Lot 327: A Collection of Vintage Vinyl LP Records featuring Progressive Rock, Folk, and Blues
A collection of approximately 20 vintage vinyl LP records, primarily featuring British progressive rock, folk, and blues artists from the late 1960s and 1970s. The group includes several notable titles such as King Crimson’s In the Court of the Crimson King and In the Wake of Poseidon, Jethro Tull’s Aqualung and This Was, Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells, and Yes – Time and a Word. Other featured artists include Cream with Fresh Cream, Fairport Convention with Liege & Lief, Emerson, Lake & Palmer with Tarkus, and The Nice with Five Bridges. The collection also contains Son House – The Legendary Son House (CBS label), Donovan – Universal Soldier, Ralph McTell – Ralph, Albert & Sydney, and two Tommy Steele albums: My Life, My Song (Pye label) and Live at the Festival. Jazz and soundtracks are represented by Benny Goodman’s The Famous 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert (Philips label) and the Bugsy Malone original motion picture soundtrack. Also present is Santa Esmeralda starring Leroy Gomez – Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood. Visible labels include Pye, CBS, and Philips, suggesting a selection of UK pressings.
Condition report:
The record sleeves show varying degrees of age-related wear consistent with regular use. Visible issues include moderate to heavy ring wear, edge scuffing, corner bumping, and surface abrasions. The sleeves for King Crimson’s In the Court of the Crimson King and Jethro Tull’s Aqualung exhibit significant surface wear and creasing. The vinyl discs have not been removed from their sleeves for inspection; therefore, the presence of scratches, warping, or the quality of audio playback cannot be confirmed. Sold as seen.
