Lot 335: A Collection of Vintage Ceramics and Decorative Items including Portmeirion and Blue and White Transferware
A varied collection of vintage ceramic tableware and decorative items. The group includes a cylindrical vase from the Portmeirion ‘Botanic Garden’ range, bearing the authentic circular backstamp to the base reading THE BOTANIC GARDEN PORTMEIRION MADE IN ENGLAND. Also featured is a collection of blue and white transfer-printed earthenware in an English landscape pattern with floral borders, including an oval platter, dinner plates, saucers, and teacups. Further ceramic items comprise a teapot with blue floral sprig decoration, a large cream-coloured oval platter with a navy blue and gilt scrollwork border, a white side plate with a gold-scalloped rim and floral transfer border, a small floral bud vase, and multiple small tan-glazed bowls. The lot also contains a selection of assorted Christmas ornaments and baubles.
Condition report:
All items show signs of general domestic use. There is noticeable staining to the interior of some teacups. Prospective bidders should account for minor surface scratches, wear to the gilding, and occasional small chips consistent with the age and nature of the lot.
