Lot 358: A Collection of Domestic Textiles and a Wicker Basket
A collection of assorted domestic textiles and a household storage item. The group includes a square tapestry-weave cushion decorated with a central pug dog in profile, bearing the printed inscription January 2003. Also included is a tall, cylindrical wicker basket of woven construction with a flared rim and base, featuring an internal white fabric liner. The textile selection comprises a large piece of white fabric with a repeat floral pattern in shades of yellow, orange, and green; a folded cotton textile with a large-scale plaid check pattern in red, orange, and pale yellow; a burgundy red fabric item with decorative broderie anglaise style openwork embroidery to the border; and an off-white knitted throw with a tasseled fringe edge.
Condition report:
Items are in used condition. The textiles appear generally well-maintained, though some pieces show heavy creasing from storage. The wicker basket is structurally sound, but the internal fabric liner is heavily distressed, torn, and frayed at the upper rim.
