A hand-knotted wool rug in the traditional Bokhara style, featuring a vibrant madder red central field decorated with two vertical rows of seven octagonal Tekke guls. Each gul is divided into quadrants and embellished with geometric motifs in navy blue, ivory, and dark red. The central field is framed by multiple geometric guard stripes and a primary border containing a continuous chain of diamond-shaped motifs. The rug is constructed with a wool pile on a wool or cotton foundation.
Condition report:
The rug appears in good overall condition with a thick and even pile. There is minor wear and unevenness to the fringe at one end, consistent with previous use. No significant stains, holes, or repairs are visible.
