Lot 432: A Group of Antique and Vintage Brass and Copper Metalware
An assortment of decorative and functional metalware items. The lot includes a copper tea kettle with a fixed overhead handle and separate lid, featuring a wrought body and dark patina. The collection also comprises various cast brass items, including an Indian-style elephant figurine with incised detailing, an ornate fluted pedestal vessel or lamp component with scrollwork, and a circular plaque with openwork foliate and shell motifs. Also present are several miniature brass pieces such as human figurines in traditional poses and a small decorative chair or throne. One brass element is incised with the numerals 115. Paper labels from previous auction houses are present on some items.
Condition report:
The items exhibit significant age-related wear, including surface tarnish, oxidation, and areas of verdigris. The copper kettle shows a deep brown patina and some minor surface dents. General surface scratches and wear consistent with age and domestic use are visible across the lot.
