Lot 434: A Collection of Mid-20th Century Ceramics and Vintage Kitchenalia
A collection of mid-20th-century ceramics and vintage kitchenalia. The lot includes a large oval earthenware platter featuring a blue transfer-printed floral and foliate border surrounding a plain white centre. Accompanying this is a circular white glazed earthenware vegetable dish with a matching cover and knob handle. A square scalloped-edge dish is decorated with embossed leaf patterns in green and cream glazes, executed in the majolica style. Also present is a ceramic butter dish and cover with an orange floral transfer-print pattern. The collection includes a tall ceramic vessel with a textured brown glaze designed to resemble tree bark and a twin-handled circular tureen with a brown floral transfer-printed motif. Completing the group is a vintage Moulinex multi-purpose kitchen tool in its original pictorial box, detailed as being for mincing, slicing, shredding, grating, and juice extraction. No factory marks or backstamps are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The items exhibit general wear, surface scratching, and signs of domestic use consistent with their age. The white lidded tureen shows dark staining or kiln marks to the interior and exterior surfaces. The Moulinex box is in worn condition with significant shelf wear, scuffing, and tearing to the edges. Due to the clarity of the images provided, it is not possible to confirm the presence of fine crazing, minor chips, or hairline cracks.
