Lot 465: A Large Italian Tammaro Murano Style Polychrome Confetti Glass Handkerchief Vase
A large hand-blown Italian art glass vase executed in the fazzoletto or handkerchief style. The vessel is constructed from clear glass featuring internal polychrome decoration consisting of vibrant multi-coloured swirls and confetti-like spots in shades of yellow, orange, red, blue, green, and white. The form is characterised by a wide, dramatically ruffled and undulating rim that tapers down to a thick, clear glass base. The underside of the base exhibits a rough-snapped pontil mark, a characteristic of traditional hand-blown glass production. The body of the vase retains an adhesive label which reads VETRO ESEGUITO SECONDO LA TECNICA DEI MAESTRI DI MURANO MADE IN ITALY with a wavy line logo above.
