Lot 532: Antique Maritime Double-Sheave Wooden Rigging Block
An antique maritime double-sheave wooden rigging block. The block features a hand-carved shell constructed from a dark hardwood, potentially oak or elm, housing two internal wooden sheaves. The assembly is held together by wooden pins and dowels, characteristic of traditional nautical equipment. A square mortise hole is visible on the side of the shell where a securing strap would have been fitted. There are no visible maker marks or patent information. A modern paper auction label for Dward Auction Rooms is attached to the side, designating the item as Lot 575.
