Lot 547: A Pair of Tiffany-style Leaded Stained Glass Dragonfly Lampshades
A pair of leaded stained glass lampshades in the Tiffany style. Each shade is of a tapered bell form, constructed using the copper foil technique. The design features a graduated colour palette, starting with mottled green glass panels at the crown and transitioning through yellow and orange tones toward the base. The primary motif consists of dragonflies positioned around the lower section of each shade. Each dragonfly is rendered with a red glass body and wings made of glass panels with a fine black-and-white stippled pattern to simulate natural texture. The design is embellished with dark ruby-coloured glass cabochons representing the dragonflies eyes and providing additional decorative accents. The lower rim is finished with a border of rectangular, pale pink-to-cream opalescent glass panels. Each shade is topped with a circular dark-finished metal fitting. One shade bears an adhesive label from Liskeard Auction Rooms (Lot 547). No manufacturer marks or signatures are visible.
