Lot 641: A Trio of Ceramic Shire Horse Figurines
A trio of ceramic heavy horse figurines, including two large glossy models and one smaller harnessed example, in the style of makers such as Beswick and Melba Ware. The first figurine is a large Shire horse with a high-gloss bay glaze, featuring white feathered legs and a facial blaze, modelled in a walking gait. The second figurine is similar in scale and pose, finished in a dark brown or black gloss glaze with a contrasting grey-toned mane and tail; this piece bears a paper lot label from Liskeard Auction Rooms. The third, smaller figurine has a matte, textured brown finish and is fitted with a detailed decorative harness comprising a collar, hames, blinkered bridle, and backband, all finished in black with gold-coloured accents. No maker marks or backstamps are visible on the figurines.
