Lot 769: A 1970s Brutalist Style Oak Coffee Table with Orange Tiled Top
A mid-to-late 20th-century coffee table in the rustic or Brutalist style, likely of British manufacture. The rectangular top is inset with twenty-four glazed ceramic tiles arranged in a four-by-six grid. These tiles feature a vibrant orange-terracotta colour with a glossy finish, and several are decorated with an embossed circular floral or sunburst motif. The frame is constructed from a dark-stained hardwood, likely oak, showing a coarse grain. The base consists of four thick, turned baluster-form legs joined by a sturdy H-stretcher for stability, all terminating in block feet. There are no visible maker’s marks, although small illegible stickers are present on the frame and top surface.
