Lot 908: Edwardian Mahogany and Inlaid Sheraton Revival Style Display Cabinet
An Edwardian mahogany and inlaid display cabinet of one-piece construction, dating from the early 20th century. The piece is designed in the Sheraton Revival style, featuring an asymmetrical front. The right-hand side contains a single door with a large pane of clear glass and a brass keyhole escutcheon. The left-hand side is divided into three sections; the top and bottom panels contain bevelled mirror plates, while the central mahogany panel is decorated with a neoclassical marquetry inlay depicting an urn with scrolling handles. The cabinet is embellished with boxwood stringing throughout the door frames, side panels, and the four square tapering legs. A low gallery ledge runs along the rear of the top surface. The interior is fitted with wooden shelving. A handwritten label is attached to a mirror panel reading RESERVE £s 2865 EDWARDIAN CABINET.
