Lot 170: A Pair of Gothic Revival Style Cast Iron Decorative Double-Headed Axes
A pair of decorative axes of identical design, manufactured as single-piece cast iron objects. Each item features a double-headed blade with circular relief motifs and a central pointed spike. The shafts are integral to the casting, featuring a decorated square-section upper segment and a spirally-twisted barley-twist grip, terminating in a rounded pommel. These objects are designed for ornamental use, such as wall-mounted displays or fireplace furniture, in the Gothic Revival style. One axe displays a white adhesive lot label for HCP Auctions South West (Lot 170) and a handwritten tag numbered 5677.
