Lot 238: A Set of Librasco Cast Iron and Brass Countertop Balance Scales with Weights
A set of vintage countertop balance scales manufactured by the British company Librasco. The instrument features a cast iron frame finished in a dark navy blue enamel, bearing a central transfer decal with the maker name. It is fitted with two brass pans, comprising a deep scoop-shaped pan and a flat circular pan. The scale operates using a central beam balance mechanism. The set includes a collection of assorted weights, consisting of several cast iron disc weights, with one clearly embossed 2 lb, and multiple smaller circular brass weights. The weights are currently contained within a non-original plastic box.
