Lot 313: Royal Tichelaar Makkum Holland Hand Painted Tile with Clipper Ship Scene
This collection consists of three decorative pieces. The largest is a rectangular ceramic tile featuring a monochrome blue landscape from Delft, depicting a windmill and houses by a waterway. The reverse of the tile displays embossed marks including the Villeroy and Boch factory logo (a V above a B within a square), MADE IN W. GERMANY, and 1-DIN. It also features hand-painted blue markings including a crown symbol, DELFT 100% HANDWERK, HOLLAND, and a small fish symbol. The second item is a framed Royal Tichelaar Makkum Holland Hand Painted Tile with Clipper Ship Scene. The third item is a rectangular relief tablet, cast in plaster or composite stone, featuring figures, an antelope, and hieroglyphic characters in the Ancient Egyptian style.
