Lot 387: A Vietnamese Ceramic Sunflower-form Hors d'oeuvres Set in a Woven Wooden Tray
A vintage ceramic hors d’oeuvres set, in the style of Bát Tràng pottery, comprising a central circular lidded bowl and a set of interlocking petal-shaped serving dishes. When assembled within the circular wooden tray, the components form a sunflower motif. The tray features a woven bamboo-style base and a bentwood gallery. The ceramic pieces are finished in a cream glaze with a fine crackle or kannyu effect. The decoration consists of hand-painted flowering branches, likely peach or cherry blossoms, in shades of pink and white with brown stems and detailing. No maker’s marks or backstamps are visible on the underside of the pieces. The set currently bears auction house stickers for HCP Auctions South West, designated as Lot 387, with a handwritten reference 9371 on the lid.
