Lot 411: A Set of Seven Certified International Corp Glazed Earthenware Pasta and Serving Bowls
A set of seven glazed earthenware bowls manufactured in Portugal for Certified International Corp. The collection features Mediterranean-themed hand-painted motifs on a cream-coloured ground. The group includes five bowls decorated with an olive pattern, comprising four small pasta bowls and one larger serving bowl, each featuring a bright yellow rim with a border of green olive branches and dark blue fruits around an off-white centre. Additionally, there are two medium-sized serving bowls: one decorated with three red tomatoes and one with three purple eggplants (aubergines), both finished with a green-painted rim. The reverse of the bowls bears a printed backstamp for CIC (Certified International Corporation), which includes the text Made in Portugal, Dishwasher & Microwave Safe, and Not Recommended for Oven Use.
Condition report:
The set presents well overall. Fine, uniform crazing is visible to the glaze, particularly on the base and interior surfaces, which is typical for earthenware of this type. No chips, cracks, or repairs are evident from the images. Small adhesive auction lot stickers remain on two items.
