Lot 513: Two Volumes: An Antique English Bible, c. 17th Century, and a Sharpe's Greeting Card Album, 1967.
This lot comprises two distinct volumes. The first is a small-format, thick antique English Bible, possibly 17th century, bound in brown leather with four raised bands on the spine. The interior text is printed in a two-column layout using an archaic typeface, featuring sections such as The Proverbs of Solomon. The second item is a large-format trade sample album titled Sharpe’s Classic Personal Christmas Cards on the tan cloth-covered boards, which features an inset nativity illustration. The interior includes a title page for 1967 Sharpe’s Classic Personal Greetings and contains numerous pages of greeting card samples alongside illustrated plates of fine antiques, including A Pair of Worcester Broth-Bowls and A Pair of Worcester Porcelain Plates. Several pages include handwritten dates in blue ink from July 1966. The front cover of the Bible bears a white auction sticker numbered 1080 and a smaller tag marked 513.
