Lot 580: Three Glass Decanters including an Engraved Ships-Style Example and Two Cut Crystal Examples
A collection of three lead crystal decanters. The first is a ships-style decanter of wide, low-slung form with a broad circular base, featuring an engraved three-masted sailing ship to the body and a matching disc-form glass stopper with bevelled edges. The second is a mallet-shaped decanter with deep-cut decoration including a cross-hatched diamond pattern to the main body and vertical flute cutting to the neck, topped with a faceted diamond-cut glass stopper. The third is a tall tapering spirit decanter featuring vertical flute cutting to the neck and shoulder above a central band of diamond-cut decoration, finished with an elongated faceted glass stopper. The quality of the cutting and the specific decorative patterns are in the style of manufacturers such as Waterford Crystal, though no maker marks were observed during inspection. One decanter bears a paper auction lot label to the neck.
