Lot 589: A Collection of National Geographic Real-Life BUGS & Insects Magazines and Resin-Encased Specimens
A collection of entomological educational materials published by RBA under license from National Geographic. The lot comprises a group of Real-Life BUGS & Insects magazines and a matching specimen display case containing fifteen natural history specimens. The magazines are individually preserved in clear plastic protective sleeves, with Issue 50, featuring Amazing Aphids, visible at the top.
The specimens are permanently encased in clear rectangular resin blocks, each featuring a printed identification label at the base. The collection includes the following species: Chinese Flower Beetle, Metallic Jewel Beetle (Asia), Golden Chaffer Beetle (Japan), Oriental Flower Beetle, Lychee Stink Bug (Asia), Shield-backed Bug (Indonesia), Tropical Mole Cricket (China), Lantern Fly (Thailand), Giant Stag Beetle (Thailand), Giant Centipede (Vietnam), Thai Stag Beetle (Thailand), Beautiful Cicada (Thailand), Asian Forest Scorpion (SE Asia), Paper Wasp (Thailand), and Indian Basket Bee (India). The specimens are housed in a black plastic display case with a clear hinged lid and a molded interior tray designed to secure the resin blocks.
