Lot 665: A Group of Six Assorted Decorative Art Glass and Crystal Items
This lot consists of six decorative glass and crystal objects including paperweights and a bowl. One circular clear glass paperweight features an encased crest of Clan Campbell, showing a boar’s head erased and the motto NE OBLIVISCARIS with the name CAMPBELL. A second circular paperweight contains a monochrome portrait of a 16th-century gentleman in a ruff collar, resembling William Shakespeare. An oval paperweight depicts a white lace dragon pattern set against a cobalt blue ground, similar to designs produced for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Included is a globose purple glass bowl with wheel-etched patterns of wheat and flowers. The collection further includes a rectangular crystal prism with internal laser-etched imagery of a horse, sun, and lightning, and a multifaceted geometric glass piece with a textured interior and a red-stained base.
