Lot 698: A Rauner Virtuoso Piano Accordion and Fitted Case
A mid-20th-century German piano accordion manufactured by F.A. Rauner, Klingenthal. The instrument is constructed with a blue and grey marbled pearloid celluloid body. The treble side features an intricate, pierced metal grill with decorative scrollwork, accented by blue and gold geometric patterns and small floral motifs. Centred on the front panel, the maker’s name RAUNER is rendered in a stylised font and inset with faceted clear and red studs. The lower bass-side casing is marked with the model name VIRTUOSO. The keyboard comprises traditional piano-style keys in a cream and black colour scheme. The bass section features a standard multi-button layout. The bellows are constructed with multiple folds, finished with gold-toned fabric tape and metal corner reinforcements. The instrument retains its original leather shoulder straps. Included is a fitted, hard-shell carrying case with a dark, textured exterior and a green velvet-lined interior.
