Lot 70: A Mid-20th Century Galvanised Wrought Iron Decorative Garden Gate
A mid-20th-century decorative garden gate constructed from wrought iron or steel with a weathered, grey galvanised finish. The rectangular frame is subdivided by horizontal and vertical bars, featuring three distinct ornamental bands. The central band contains a series of double-scroll motifs connected by twisted diagonal bars that form ‘V’ shapes. The upper and lower bands are decorated with smaller, corresponding scrolled elements. The gate is fitted with its original hardware, including a gravity-drop sliding latch and two integrated pintle-style hinge pins. A white auction label with the lot number 5677 in green ink is attached to the central bar. No manufacturer’s marks or foundry stamps are present.
