Lot 870: A Pair of Attributed McGuire Umbria Rattan Lounge Chairs
Attributed to the Umbria model by McGuire, this pair of low-profile slipper chairs features curved, wrap-around backs and sides finished in a tightly woven rattan with a textured olive-green and gold tone. The fixed seat cushions are upholstered in a contrasting pale blue and cream patterned fabric, displaying a scrolling floral and foliate design in the Arts and Crafts style. Each chair is supported by gilt-finished cabriole front legs and splayed back legs. The chairs are accompanied by two assorted throw cushions: one in a plain grey textured weave and the other in a cream fabric with a stylised brown canine motif. No maker’s marks are visible.
