Lot 873: Late Victorian Oak Dressing Chest with Mirror
A late Victorian or Edwardian oak dressing chest, dating from approximately 1890 to 1910. The chest is constructed of oak with a dark-stained finish and features an adjustable rectangular mirror. The mirror is set within a frame topped with a shaped, pointed pediment and is flanked by turned uprights terminating in ball finials. The base unit contains three full-width drawers, each fitted with a pair of brass drop handles on decorative circular backplates. The secondary timber used for the drawer interiors is pine. No maker’s marks or manufacturer labels are visible. A lot tag numbered 3028 is attached to the mirror glass.
