Lot 923: A Jacobean Revival Carved Oak Storage Cabinet
A Jacobean Revival style carved oak storage cabinet, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The carcase is constructed from dark-stained oak and features ornate decorative elements including reeded pilasters set with carved bosses, arcaded edging, and central lozenge-shaped panels with floral motifs. The cabinet is configured with multiple storage compartments accessed by drop-front and hinged doors, fitted with patinated metal hardware and brass knobs. The design shows strong Flemish or Northern European influence, characteristic of the Mechelen style. No maker’s marks or stamps are discernible, though a small paper auction label is attached to the facade.
