Lot 1113: A Folding Boat Seat in Blue-Grey Vinyl
A pair of mid-century modern side chairs featuring curved, steam-bent plywood backrests with a figured wood veneer. The backrests are secured to the frame uprights with two visible metal bolt covers. The frames are constructed from hardwood with a black-stained finish and feature tapered legs. The seats are padded and upholstered in a magenta vinyl. The design is characteristic of mid-20th century British furniture, often referred to as a butterfly or bow back. No manufacturer’s marks or original labels are present; white rectangular adhesive lotting stickers numbered 1116 and small pink circular stickers are attached to the backrests.
