Lot 1116: A Pair of Mid-Century Modern Boomerang Back Side Chairs
A set of four late 19th or early 20th-century Windsor-style kitchen chairs in the lath-back tradition. Each chair features a wide, steam-bent and shaped crest rail above six vertical laths. The contoured seats are supported on turned legs joined by H-pattern stretchers. Constructed using traditional stick-and-socket joinery, the chairs exhibit a dark-stained finish. While the species is obscured by the finish, this regional British style typically incorporates elm seats with beech or ash frames. Two chairs retain temporary inventory labels, one pink circular and one white rectangular.
