Lot 1122: Mid-20th Century Georgian Revival Mahogany Veneer Two-Tier Occasional Table
A pair of Windsor-style hoop-back side chairs, constructed in the mid-20th century British tradition. Each chair features a steam-bent wooden hoop back enclosing six vertical spindles. The chairs are built with solid, contoured wooden seats displaying a prominent grain, supported by four splayed and tapered legs. The design is characteristic of the High Wycombe furniture manufacturing tradition and is in the style of the Ercol model 391 ‘All-purpose’ chair. No manufacturer’s marks or stamps are visible on either piece. One chair bears two contemporary auction identification stickers to the seat: a printed label for HCP Auctions South West, Lot 1125, and a handwritten label reading 9619 x 2.
