Buyer's Premium:

A mid-20th century oak mule chest designed in the Tudor Revival style, similar in design to the Old Charm range by Wood Bros. The piece comprises a triple-panelled hinged lid which opens to reveal an internal storage compartment supported by a brass stay chain. The front face features two outer panels with vertical linenfold carving and a central panel decorated with a deep, high-relief heraldic carving. This central motif depicts two rampant heraldic beasts supporting a shield, topped with a helmet and a scroll inscribed with the word FIDE. The base of the chest contains two side-by-side drawers, each fitted with darkened metal drop-ring handles. The entire unit is raised on a shaped plinth base with integral bracket feet. The construction utilizes oak, displaying characteristic grain patterns and medullary rays.
