Lot 141: A Pair of Victorian Cast Iron Garden Bench Ends
A pair of ornate Victorian cast iron garden bench ends. The frames feature elaborate scrolling foliate, shell, and floral motifs throughout. The items are finished in weathered white paint. A small number of greyed, weathered wooden slats remain partially attached or associated with the frames. Numerous rusted iron carriage bolts are present in situ through the pre-cast holes designed for securing timber slats. The design is consistent with the output of British foundries from the late 19th century. No manufacturer names, foundry marks, or design registration marks are visible on the castings.
