Lot 152: A Selection of Table Tennis Equipment Including Sportcraft and Dunlop Items
A pair of hand-hewn circular staddle stone caps, crafted from coarse-grained natural stone, likely gritstone or conglomerate. Each cap features a roughly domed upper surface and a flat underside, without a central aperture. These items are characteristic of traditional British agricultural architecture, where they were historically used as supporting pillars for granaries, hayricks, and game larders to protect contents from vermin and dampness. One stone bears a contemporary HCP Auctions South West label for Lot 153.
