Lot 511: An Assortment of Decorative Objects including Silver-plated Metalware, Glassware, and Ceramics
This 20th-century naive-style work is a watercolour on paper, depicting a vibrant floral arrangement in a bulbous, yellow-striped vase. The bouquet features a variety of flowers, including red, yellow, and purple blooms, alongside white clusters resembling hydrangeas. The artwork is executed on a sheet from a spiral-bound sketchbook, indicated by the perforated left-hand margin. The background consists of soft washes in pale green and yellow. No signature or date is visible on the front of the piece. The paper is mounted under glass and secured with four metal clips to a large, rectangular, sage-green painted board. Two inventory labels are affixed to the lower-left corner of the mount: a handwritten tag with 1270 and a printed lot label marked 512.
