Lot 521: A Collection of Railway and Industrial Interest Collectibles including Hornby, Bachmann, and Classix Items
A Chinese porcelain ovoid ginger jar featuring a heavy, intentional crackle-glaze in a cream tone. The exterior is hand-decorated in polychrome enamels with a narrative scene depicting several figures in traditional dress within a landscape setting. A decorative band of dark bronzed or iron-rust wash is situated around the shoulder, incised with a repetitive geometric fretwork pattern. The matching domed lid is similarly decorated with a central figure and finished with a corresponding crackle glaze. Two labels are adhered to the body: one modern printed auction label identifying the item as Lot 522 and a handwritten vendor label reading VENDOR 1924 / ANTIQUE CHINESE / CRACKLEWARE JAR. No base marks or reign marks are visible.
