Lot 575: A large-scale bridal collector doll, attributed to Maryse Nicole for Franklin Mint
This lot comprises an assortment of marine mollusc shells and natural history specimens, presented within a wicker picnic-style hamper. The collection includes various bivalve and gastropod species such as razor shells (Ensis spp.), scallop shells (Pectinidae family), common whelks (Buccinum undatum), and common cockles (Cerastoderma edule). Additional specimens include limpets (Patella vulgata), oyster shells (Ostrea edulis), slipper limpets (Crepidula fornicata), and elongated auger-style gastropods. The group also contains fragments of pumice and water-worn stones. These species are characteristic of those found along the coastlines of the British Isles and Western Europe. The hamper is made of woven wicker with a black fabric lining and features black leatherette straps with metal buckles. A fabric label inside the lid is marked Morrisons Since 1899 The Best. The lining also features a white sticker printed with Lot 576 and a small paper tag with a handwritten price of £9.
