Lot 611: A set of bone china tea and tableware in the Old Country Roses pattern from Royal Albert
This lot comprises two items including a single-strand cultured pearl necklace and a perforated silver metal vessel. The necklace is composed of cultured freshwater pearls of an off-round or potato-shaped form, measuring approximately 6mm to 7mm in diameter. The pearls display a cream-white body colour with a good lustre and characteristic natural surface variations. They are individually knotted on a white thread and secured with a silver-toned lobster claw clasp. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the necklace findings.
The second item is a small, circular, perforated vessel of domed form, likely used as a tea infuser or pomander. The object features a decorative arrangement of circular piercings to the top and is fitted with a thin wire bale or handle. The body shows four small, darkened rectangular indentations which appear to be British hallmarks, though the individual characters are not clearly legible. The item is constructed from a silver showing a significant dark patina consistent with age.
