Lot 697: A Set of Four Cut Crystal Glasses From Royal Doulton
A collection of assorted decorative costume jewellery brooches, predominantly from the mid-to-late 20th century. The assortment includes a penannular-style brooch featuring green and red enamel knotwork and scroll motifs, a large polychrome enamel brooch depicting a mallard duck in flight, and a circular brooch with a triskelion-style spiral motif in blue, red, and yellow enamel. Other items in the group include an oval floral brooch, a butterfly brooch with blue and red enamel wings, a circular openwork floral brooch, a brooch set with a green and yellow mottled cabochon, and several smaller floral pins. These pieces are manufactured from base metals with gilt and silver-tone finishes, featuring cold and vitreous enamel decoration. Based on design and motif, several items in the collection, particularly the mallard and Celtic-inspired pieces, are attributed to Tara Ware of Dublin. The brooches utilise standard pin and clasp mechanisms.
