Lot 73: Two Vintage British Two-Gallon Petrol Cans including Shell and Redline
A pair of vintage metal petrol cans of the standard British two-gallon capacity. The first can is branded for Shell Motor Spirit, finished in red with yellow block lettering on one face. It is equipped with a metal screw cap and an integrated carry handle. The second can is produced for the Redline Motor Spirit Co. Ltd and features an embossed diagonal Redline script logo above a triangular graphic on the front panel. This can also retains its metal screw cap and top handle. Both cans are of the characteristic rectangular form used throughout the early to mid-20th century. Neither can has been tested for internal cleanliness or seal integrity.
