Lot 826: An Assortment of Motorcycling and Protective Sports Gear
A pair of unstretched oil paintings on canvas. The first work is a marine scene depicting a multi-masted sailing ship navigating a choppy sea under a pale, overcast sky. The work is executed with visible brushwork and impasto highlights on the waves and sails. It is signed Antonio in script in the lower right corner. The second work is a rural landscape depicting a small cottage with a red roof nestled among mature trees on the bank of a calm river or lake. This painting bears dark markings in the lower right corner that are not clearly legible as characters. Both works are consistent with decorative studio pieces of the mid-to-late 20th century. The canvases are characterised by wide white margins. A small white lot label printed with LOT 828 is attached to the lower margin of the landscape scene.
