Lot 855: A Jacobean Revival Stained Oak Writing Table with Integrated Stationery Rack, circa 1920s
A dark stained oak fire screen in the Jacobean Revival style, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The piece features a central rectangular panel decorated with a stylized foliate scrollwork motif in a contrasting tone, likely a transfer or stencil application. The panel is supported by twin barley-twist uprights topped with block finials. The screen is mounted on a trestle base comprising two horizontal stretchers and four splayed bracket feet. Construction appears to be solid oak with a dark pigmented finish. No manufacturer marks or labels are visible.
